I love weekend mornings. The house is quiet and I'm alone with my thoughts and my cat. It's when I get some of my best thinking done. (Yes...I think!...and about deep stuff too.)
This morning, I've been thinking about the concept of maturity. Society says maturity = Adulthood so therefore for many people, reaching the "old" age of 18 makes you an adult in Society's eyes but then they're hit with the reality that that magical birthday did not bring the wisdom o...f maturity because it is a number; it has no physical measurement. There's no handbook. There's no wise guru on a mountain top who has all of the answers. As much as we all would love to have either of those options, the reality of maturity is that it is a journey, unique to each individual. There's no simple or obvious path in finding your maturity, even though today's Media would love to make us believe that there is and you too can have it for the low, LOW price of 99k payments of $99.
Maturity comes with the development of self-validation and confidence. When you know that what and who you are is the best for you, no longer needing to measure yourself to the standards of others. When you can get out of the bed in the morning knowing that you have a positive impact on the world around you (regardless of the size of that impact, always keep in mind the ripple effect!), you begin to view your existence in a completely different light. The stress and anxiety caused by constant struggles of the need to prove yourself falls away and the person you will begin to shine for all to see.
Ok, my tea is now cold. This must be remedied.
I hope you all have a wonderful day. I'm going to go adult now.
